Kerela, South India
Possibly one of the least Indian like places of India and then in other ways absolutely typically Indian. I experienced culture-shock walking into a train station and just walking up to the ticket window and buying a ticket. If you've been to India you'll understand why that could give anyone culture-shock. All in all, a place well worth visiting. One incredible experience was visiting neolithic burial chambers there and trying to visualise the same cultural practices taking place as part apart as South India and South England. Incredible.
